I had Meta Muse negotiate with a customer service chatbot, and it didn't go smoothly

A CNET reporter had the Meta Muse agent contact Visible customer service to resolve an issue where their phone number had long been receiving harassing messages from people looking for the previous owner, Andrew. Muse found records on a data broker's page, but Visible blocked bot access; after switching to guest chat, the send button wouldn't submit, the help page temporarily banned them, and browser takeover also hit a 403 error. In the end the problem was not resolved, and Muse was more like an ordinary chatbot, only able to offer suggestions.

How OpenAI Designs Failover for Model Providers

For customers such as those in financial services, OpenAI explains the production routing and failover design for critical AI workloads between the direct OpenAI API (1P) and third-party cloud providers (3P). The direct API allows early access to preview models and features, and failover is enabled only when a request can be safely retried and the fallback route meets the requirements—for example, in a payment flow, a timed-out Responses API call for a read-only fraud assessment can be retried before the transaction deadline. In-progress sessions in the Agents API cannot be recovered by switching providers; multi-provider support is a platform capability, while failover is a workflow decision.

NVIDIA Expands Nemotron Model Family with New Super VL and Two Bolt Models

NVIDIA has added three models to the Nemotron open-source model family, covering enterprise workflows, local AI agents, and conversational applications across data centers, desktops, and edge devices. These include the 120-billion-parameter Nemotron 3.5 Super VL, which NVIDIA claims delivers up to 5x the throughput of the next-best comparable model, with accuracy approaching that of its largest reasoning model at roughly one-fifth the parameter count; there are also two small models in the Nemotron 3.5 Bolt series: 74B-A9B 24GB for everyday agent tasks on RTX and DGX Spark, and E4B 4GB for conversational and physical AI agents. Super VL and Bolt 74B-A9B are already available, and Bolt E4B is scheduled for release on October 23.
