Phone-local large model + ESP32: I made a calorie intake reminder This episode I made a small open-source project: use your phone to take a picture of what you're eating, a local large model recognizes the food and estimates calories, then a small ESP32 screen displays daily intake progress in sync. Solution details: Phone App: deploys MiniCPM-V-4.7-35B-A3B locally, completing image understanding locally on the phone Calorie estimation: lists the recognized foods, estimates calories for each and displays the total ESP32 screen: syncs today's data from the App, visually displaying daily intake progress Ring indicator: uses green, yellow and red to distinguish the current calorie intake status Magnetic mount: can stick to the fridge door, and can also be placed next to the coffee machine or near the snack area Calorie values are model estimates, suitable for daily logging and intake reminders.
