TSMC's CoWoS Packaging Reportedly to Raise Prices 10% to 20%, AI Packaging and Testing Capacity Remains Tight

Affected by the explosion in AI demand and comprehensive tightness in semiconductor supply chain capacity, TSMC plans to raise CoWoS packaging quotes by 10% to 20%. This technology is widely used in high-end AI processors, and demand has extended from GPUs to server CPUs and custom ASICs, while chip equipment lead times have also lengthened from 3 to 6 months to 6 to 8 months. Analysts expect TSMC's monthly CoWoS capacity to potentially exceed 130,000 wafers in 2026 and rise to 200,000 wafers in 2027.

As Anthropic IPO Nears, Commonwealth Bank of Australia's Stake Paper Gain Rises to A$1.53 Billion

The book value of the Anthropic stake held by Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has risen from A$153 million to A$1.53 billion, an increase of nearly tenfold within a year. According to Bloomberg calculations, if Anthropic lists at a valuation of US$2 trillion, CBA's stake could be worth about A$3.2 billion, but this calculation does not account for IPO dilution effects. CBA participated in Anthropic's Series E funding round in March 2025, and the two sides also collaborate on banking operations such as anti-fraud and on AI skills training for engineers.

TSMC Plans to Raise CoWoS Advanced Packaging Prices by 10%-20%, Nvidia and AMD Face Cost Pressure

According to a report by Taiwan's Commercial Times citing supply chain sources, TSMC is considering raising prices for advanced packaging processes by 10% to 20%, with the core product being the CoWoS packaging technology used to integrate chips with HBM. The report says TSMC's monthly CoWoS capacity is expected to exceed 130,000 wafers in 2026 and further increase to more than 200,000 wafers in 2027. The price increase will directly push up production costs for major chip companies such as Nvidia and AMD, and Apple's hardware products may also come under pressure from the combined packaging and memory costs.

Anthropic Files S-1 Prospectus with Ticker ANT, First-Half Revenue of $16.286 Billion

Anthropic publicly filed its S-1 prospectus with the SEC under the ticker "ANT," with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as underwriters. Revenue for the first half of 2026 was $16.286 billion, up about 1,300% year over year; net loss widened to $80.748 billion, of which about $72.388 billion came from fair value changes in convertible debt, derivative liabilities, and SAFEs, representing non-cash accounting losses. Operating loss narrowed from $2.135 billion in the same period last year to $693 million, and the second quarter achieved approximately $974 million in GAAP operating profit. The author also points out two risks: concentration of customers and cloud providers, and concentration of shareholder voting power in the Long-Term Benefit Trust and the founders.

Anthropic Files for IPO, Prospectus Discloses 11 Details

Anthropic has publicly filed for an IPO, planning to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, aiming to raise approximately $100 billion, with a valuation range of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion. The prospectus shows that its revenue in the second quarter of this year was $11.555 billion, with operating profit turning positive for the first time at $974 million, while its net loss for the first half of the year was $80.7 billion, mainly from fair value changes in convertible notes and other items. The author also outlines the take-or-pay compute contracts signed with Google, Amazon, Microsoft, SpaceX, and others, as well as the Class F share arrangement under which 7 co-founders hold 50.1% of voting rights for $7.

Anthropic S-1 Discloses Rapid Valuation Rise and Composition of $80.7 Billion Net Loss

Anthropic's S-1 shows that Google and Amazon agreed in March and April to purchase shares at $259 per share, while weeks later new investors paid $589. Amazon's early loans could be converted into shares at $2.09 to $5.05, and as the valuation rose, these fixed-price rights appreciated, which accounting rules counted as an Anthropic loss totaling $72.4 billion plus $9.4 billion—nearly all of its $80.7 billion net loss in the first half of 2026; the company had no cash outflow, and the business itself lost only $700 million. Broadcom, which leases AI chips to Anthropic, has also agreed to finance part of the rent.

Anthropic just filed S1 with SEC. shows $16.3B in 6-month revenue while its operating loss shrank to $693M. That revenue is 14 times the year-earlier $1.16B, and it’s growing much faster than Anthropic’s biggest operating expense. Compute and infrastructure cost $8.9B over the 6 months, yet June-quarter revenue rose 1,368% year over year against 300% for compute. Existing customers supply much of that growth: by September, those outside Claude’s Pro and Max plans spent about 9 times their year-earlier level. The $80.7B net loss, by contrast, comes mostly from a $72.4B paper charge, because convertible notes issued to Amazon gained value as Anthropic’s valuation rose. Amazon funded Anthropic partly through loans that later turn into shares, and accounting rules make Anthropic book a loss whenever those future shares become more valuable, which accounts for $72.4B of the $80.7B loss. No cash left the company; the real cost is that Amazon will receive shares worth far more than it paid, which shrinks other shareholders’ slice. Public buyers get 1 vote per Class A share, while the co-founders’ single Class F share carries 50.1% of total voting power. The Long-Term Benefit Trust also elects most directors, so Class A holders will have little say over leadership or any takeover. We are still blank are the price range and total compute commitments running to 2045, the figure that will test whether revenue can keep outpacing compute.

Anthropic IPO Filing Discloses Catastrophic AI Risks and Unsustainable Growth

In its IPO filing, Anthropic told investors that the company itself shares concerns that advanced AI could pose catastrophic or existential risks to humanity, and warned that its 1300% growth rate will not continue and that continued revenue growth cannot be guaranteed. The filing also stated that if a catastrophic AI event occurred, a single insurer or even the entire insurance industry might lack the capacity or expertise to underwrite such risks, and the company could face liability, litigation and regulatory action.

Anthropic’s S-1 shows how fast its value rose in 2026. Google and Amazon agreed in March and April to buy shares at $259, and weeks later new investors paid $589. Broadcom, which rents AI chips to Anthropic, has also agreed to finance part of that rent. > Google and Amazon had the right to buy shares at a fixed $259. > Amazon’s older loans also turn into shares at a fixed $2.09 to $5.05. > As Anthropic’s value soared, those fixed-price rights became worth far more, and accounting rules count that rise as a loss for Anthropic: $72.4B plus $9.4B, nearly all of its $80.7B net loss for the first half of 2026. No cash left the company, and the business itself lost only $0.7B.

TSMC CoWoS Packaging Reportedly to Raise Prices Again, with Increases of Up to 20%

TSMC is reportedly preparing to raise CoWoS packaging prices again, with increases of up to 20%, because AI packaging demand exceeds supply. Demand has expanded from GPUs to server CPUs and custom ASICs, and foundries and packaging houses are expected to raise prices by 10% to 20%. Equipment lead times have stretched from 3-6 months to 6-8 months, and larger package sizes will also reduce the per-tool hourly output. TSMC Chairman C.C. Wei said that packaging with an area 5 times that of the largest printable chip has entered mass production with excellent yield, and 9x and 14x plans are in planning.

Cloudflare Discloses GLM-5.3 Cross-Tenant Session Leak Affecting 155 Responses

On October 26, 2026, Cloudflare published an incident report disclosing that GLM-5.3 on Workers AI had a cross-request KV cache leak, in which data from other customers' sessions was mixed into the responses to 155 extremely long prompts. The prompts of the affected requests all exceeded 681,280 tokens; the cause was a mismatch between the 1,048,576-token context window and a prefill KV pool of only 681,280 tokens, compounded by a flaw in SGLang's handling of extremely long requests in disaggregated prefill/decode mode, which caused clients to receive HTTP 200 instead of 400. Cloudflare completed the fix and restored the model on September 9, and the relevant fixes have been merged into SGLang v0.5.20 through v0.5.22; the official recommendation is to upgrade to v0.5.22 or later.

Chinese tech stocks see sharp correction; AI stocks account for 40% of market value, dragging the broader market down as $2.4 trillion evaporates

Amid concerns over AI prospects, the STAR 50 index, which tracks Shanghai technology and innovation companies, has fallen 40% since June, and Chinese stock markets have lost $2.4 trillion in market value since May. Goldman Sachs data shows that AI stocks account for more than 40% of the market value of mainland China and Hong Kong stock markets, and Unitree Robotics' share price has halved since its August listing. Analysts attribute the sell-off to corporate profits falling short of expectations, US interest rate hikes, weak domestic demand, and the threat of US restrictions on Chinese robot and data center components.
