Eka Robotics raises $150 million at a $14.5 billion valuation to build robotic hands with a sense of touch

Eka Robotics has completed a $150 million Series A funding round at a $14.5 billion valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz and Fidelity's F-Prime. Its vision-force-action model uses force sensors in custom grippers to sense grip strength, allowing it to adjust its hold mid-grasp when an object slips. The robot can pick up about 1,500 objects per hour that are outside its training data, compared with a human baseline of about 600. The gripper costs less than $1,000 and is currently rated for 5 million work cycles; the company aims to raise that to 20 million, the standard for industrial robotic arms.

Cloudflare OS Launches Managed Service, Adds GitHub and Gmail Connections

Cloudflare has announced a managed service for its AI business platform Cloudflare OS, with waitlist registration now open. Cloudflare OS was open-sourced in August this year and can be deployed in Cloudflare environments, on-premises, or in the cloud. It supports integration with Cloudflare Workers AI as well as AI services from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and others, and has the ability to securely access enterprise internal data. Two features were added this time: first, connecting to GitHub repositories, allowing AI agents to add features, debug, view PRs, create commits, and push code based on repository code; second, strengthening the Google Workspace integration, so agents can read and search Gmail conversations, draft and send emails, and connect to Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets.

    Daytona raises a $60 million Series B at a $1 billion valuation

Daytona, which provides cloud sandboxes for AI agents, has raised a $60 million Series B at a $1 billion valuation, led by FirstMark, bringing its total funding to about $91 million. Its customers include Anthropic, OpenAI, Nvidia, Cursor, Cognition, Meta, and Cohere, and CEO Burazin said the company's revenue run rate grew 25-fold between January and September. Daytona says it can provision a new sandbox for an agent within 60 milliseconds by pre-distributing snapshots of configured machines to servers' physical disks.

AI startup Vectorial raises $3 million to use AI to simulate human behavior for consumer research

AI startup Vectorial has closed a $3 million seed round co-led by Smilegate and SenseAI Ventures to launch its consumer research platform that simulates human behavior. The platform is based on the behavioral model SAPIENS, whose training data covers more than 2.5 million real consumers; it predicts consumer behavior 30% more accurately than general-purpose models and achieves about 86% accuracy compared with real user research. Customers including GoodRx, Boat, Everkind and Concrete Software run an average of 600 simulations per month, and the company will use the new funding to build SAPIENS 2.0.

SmartBear's BearQ adds Sources to find coverage gaps, Workflows to automate test runs

SmartBear has added two capabilities, Sources and Workflows, to its BearQ agentic quality assurance system: Sources pulls requirements and bug reports from Jira and, combined with existing tests in Reflect and Zephyr, identifies coverage gaps to reduce duplicate testing; Workflows supports chaining tasks under a single trigger, for example automatically creating a test environment and running regression tests once a build enters CI/CD. SmartBear said that in a September 30 survey of 1,436 respondents in the US and UK, 23% cited trust as the top barrier to adopting autonomous testing.

Scaled Cognition Launches Customer Service Voice Model Voice

Scaled Cognition has released Voice, a text-to-speech model that supports more than 25 languages and voice cloning, and can be accessed via API or deployed self-hosted. It focuses on accurately reading aloud details such as account numbers and addresses. Managed API pricing is $9 per million characters, while self-hosting costs $1 per million characters (excluding infrastructure). The company says that at a scale of 5 million characters, including infrastructure, the cost is about $13 per million characters, and it claims a speech generation latency of 70 milliseconds. Voice's Smart Pronunciation capability first determines the meaning of abbreviations and numbers before generating audio—for example, reading "Pay 1/2 by 1/2" as "pay half by January second"—and it can run without relying on APT or other large language models.
