CAS team uses AI to complete ten-loop calculation in maximally supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory

The team led by Song He at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with AI assistance, completed nine- and ten-loop "symbol" calculations of the six-particle scattering amplitudes of both MHV and NMHV types in maximally supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory. The nine-loop actual run took no more than half a day, and the ten-loop calculation was completed within one day. Using the duality relation between the MHV amplitude and the three-point form factor, they obtained the ten-loop "symbol" result for the three-point form factor, with the number of terms reaching 538819472142. At almost the same time, Anthropic announced that it had used Claude to complete a nine-loop calculation, but obtained only the function result for one class of MHV amplitudes.

Six tech giants' executives gather at White House lunch: Where does the AI safety debate go from here?

Six tech executives—Meta's Zuckerberg, Anthropic's Amodei, OpenAI's Brockman, Google's Pichai, Palantir's Karp, and Nvidia's Jensen Huang—are expected to gather at the White House on September 29 local time for a lunch also attended by Trump and House Speaker Johnson. The debate in the U.S. tech world over AI risks has split into two camps; Amodei previously wrote an article calling for "putting the brakes on the pace" of frontier AI development. In the short term, it is almost impossible for the U.S. Congress to pass any AI-related bill.
