Anthropic has adjusted the usage rules for Claude's highest-tier subscription plan, Ultra. Ultra accounts that have passed system verification are no longer subject to the usage limit of one use per 5 hours, while the weekly usage cap remains in place; accounts that have not completed verification are still temporarily subject to the 5-hour limit. This adjustment coincides with a renaming of subscription plans: the former Max 5x is renamed Max, and Max 20x is renamed Ultra, with monthly fees maintained at $100 and $200 respectively. Existing subscribers are automatically verified by the system based on their account and payment history. Ultra's weekly usage remains 10 times that of the Pro plan; the weekly quota applies across different models, and Fable has a separate independent weekly usage limit.

Meta's third-quarter ad revenue was $63.1 billion, up 26% year over year, while Google's search and related ad revenue for the same period was $63.4 billion, up 12% year over year; the 14-percentage-point growth gap is the largest margin by which Meta has led Google since 2021. Meta has introduced AI tools into its ad management system, and its Chief Financial Officer Susan Li said advertisers using the relevant tools saw conversion rates rise by nearly 5% and ad spending increase by 9%. Google, meanwhile, faces AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude diverting search demand, and its own AI Overviews and AI Mode have also changed how search results are presented.

A WIRED investigation found a network of more than 400 linked domains and apps that appear on the surface to be everyday tools such as pet portraits, language learning, and AI fitness coaches, but under specific conditions load web interfaces for generating explicit sexual images and videos, including templates such as "bedroom rape" and "threatening knife." After tracking thousands of explicit deepfake ads on Meta's platforms, researchers found that these links pointed to apps in Apple's and Google's app stores; one app called DiffAI had more than 100,000 downloads on the Play Store, and another 27 such apps were still listed on Google Play in September with cumulative downloads exceeding 350,000. The investigation indicates that these apps appear to be operated by Chinese developers and the Hong Kong-registered entity KeLing Technology Limited; Apple removed 19 apps after WIRED inquired, and Meta said it had taken action against the relevant advertising accounts and pages.

Amanda Peterson Corio, Google's head of data center energy, said at the WTF summit that the launch cost of sending computing hardware into orbit is extremely high, potentially up to 100 times the cost of ground-based construction, and noted that the real bottleneck lies in the approval process and lengthy evaluation studies required to connect projects to the grid. She mentioned that if launch costs fall to $200 per kilogram or below, the computing cost per unit of power in space could become roughly comparable to that on the ground, a threshold that may be reached around 2035. This month, Google's research team still announced a partnership with PlanetLabs to explore large-scale space data center clusters, and has already launched a small space server prototype carrying its self-developed TPU under the Suncatcher project.

On November 1, the "Science & Art · AI · Aesthetic Education" 2026 interdisciplinary academic salon, co-hosted by the Shanghai Science and Art Society and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, was held at the Pudong Biyun Art Museum. Nearly one hundred scientists, artists, and education experts engaged in dialogue on AI issues in aesthetic education across universities, society, and youth. The salon opened with the AI human-machine co-created song "Sparks of Brilliance," with lyrics by Cai Yonglian, Vice President of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and music composed by an algorithmic large model. Attendees believed that interdisciplinary social aesthetic education is more worth exploring with love as the core and public education as the path, allowing technology to be transformed into artistic experience for the public.

MIT Tech Review reporter Grace Huckins writes that the Semantic Web vision proposed by Berners-Lee in 2001 is becoming a reality in the form of an agent network based on large language models. Agents such as Meta's Muse, OpenAI's Dots and Anthropic's Claude Duet have begun connecting to users' bank accounts and email inboxes, and websites such as Time have launched ads aimed at agents. The article compares two paths: letting agents operate browsers like humans, or directly interfacing with website backends through plug-ins and connectors using text and code; it also discusses changes such as Amazon banning Muse and agent traffic disrupting the attention economy.

In Part 5 of the rolling bearing fault diagnosis series, a random forest is used to build a traditional machine learning control group: each 1000×2 sample is flattened into 2000-dimensional features and trained with parameters such as n_estimators=50 and max_depth=5, achieving an overall accuracy of about 0.73. The author points out that tree models cannot see the waveform structure, and 73% is already the upper limit of their expressive capability, which perfectly highlights the value of the subsequent deep network's 95%.
